Maybe induced by the choice of words (virtuosi as opposite to laggards), I feel that to find really virtuous deficit reduction strategies (in the sense that they are more growth friendly, rather than just how ambitious they are) your analysis would benefit from extending your comparison to two additional indicators: the ratio between tax increases vs expenditure cuts, and the impact of deficit reduction on (potential) GDP growth. Still a very interesting article!</description>
